Before...
For fifteen years I lived in New Jersey with my mom. I hardly ever saw my dad, except on TV when he was being interviewed for his latest "self-help for the hopeless" book. But hey, that was fine with me. I was totally happy hanging out with Mom or my crazy friend Posh.
Then my mom got sick, and instead of getting better, she got worse -- fast. And before I could even process the awful reality, I was on a plane to California, to go live with the only parent I have left.

After...
So now, I'm not only living in this totally alien landscape, where the sun never stops shining, but I find out that my dad's not just this life coach/self-help guru -- he's a fairy godmother! Wait, sorry -- fairy godfather.
And because I was unlucky enough to inherit his DNA, I'm stuck with being one too. Let me tell you, I am so not the fairy tales, magic wand, happy endings type.

Now...
I don't just get to start waving a wand, conjuring up whatever I want though. Oh no... I have to grant a wish first, using only a couple of pathetic mini-powers, and then I'll finally be able to do the big magic.
But what if the wish I'm supposed to grant seems impossible?
Or worse -- that granting the wish means I'll be doomed to live unhappily ever after?
